CELPIP
WHAT IS “CELPIP”?
CELPIP, Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program is a test which is structured over the globe for evaluating the proficiency of an individual in English Language. The test has two versions – CELPIP General and CELPIP General LS.
It is a completely computerized examination which is conducted in a single sitting. Currently CELPIP is valid only for Canadian immigration purpose. CELPIP Results are available online within eight business days. For early results in just 3 business days option of Express Rating is also there. Paragon Testing Enterprises, a supplementary of the University of British Columbia manages CELPIP.
As, different modules of English language i.e. Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking are involved in the test. So the infrastructure is provided for the same like PC with Mouse & keyboard for reading & writing section whereas a computer microphone and a headset is provided for Listening and Speaking components.

Listen to passages and answer questions: 47–55 minutes
Reading
Read passages and answer questions: 55–60 minutes
Writing
Respond to questions with written answers: 53–60 minutes
Speaking
Reply to on-screen prompts verbally: 15–20 minutes

Test Scores
Each component of the CELPIP – General Test and the CELPIP – General LS Test is given a CELPIP level. Below is a chart of each CELPIP level and its description. Since the CELPIP test scores have been calibrated against the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels, we have included the CLB level equivalencies for your information.
